Job Description
A skilled General Labourer for Strohmaier Excavating (2019) Ltd. assumes responsibility for all general labour tasks required on civil construction projects, provides labour support as directed by the Supervisor or Foreman, and maintains cleanliness of the work site to ensure it is clear of any and all hazards.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Dig / fill trenches in co-ordination with excavator operator
- Groundwork / formwork
- Loading / unloading materials (Must be able to perform heavy lifting)
- Level and grade ground surfaces using brooms and rakes
- Carrying / distributing materials tools as needed throughout the job site
- Measure and lay out work areas
- Maintain a clean and organized work site to reduce and prevent safety hazards
Requirements and Qualifications
- A minimum of 1-2 years labour work experience preferred but not necessasry
(Prior experience in civil construction considered an asset)
- Must be in good physical condition / health (ability to perform physically demanding tasks)
- Must be able to work safely around heavy equipment
- Must possess a strong ability to pay close attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Possess active listening skills
- Strong work ethic and a good attitude
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions
- Have reliable transportation
- Valid BCDL
- Good Drivers Abstract
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
