Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Residential Wood Frame Carpenter and helper to join our dedicated team.
Job Title: Residential Wood Frame Carpenter
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and dimensions.
- Lay out and cut building materials, including lumber, plywood, and other framing components, according to specifications.
- Construct, erect, and install building frameworks, including walls, floors, and roof.
- Install subflooring, sheathing, and other structural elements.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently (e.g., saws, drills, nail guns).
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and building codes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with other trades and team members.
- Troubleshoot and resolve framing-related issues as they arise.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of [e.g., 3-5] years of proven experience as a Residential Wood Frame Carpenter or equivalent experience.
- Thorough knowledge of residential wood framing practices, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Excellent physical stamina and strength.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation to job sites across the Lower Mainland.
- Own basic hand tools (specialized power tools will be provided)
Job Title: Residential Wood Frame Carpenter Helper
Responsibilities:
- Assist carpenters and lead framers with various tasks on residential construction sites.
- Carry and move lumber, tools, and materials safely and efficiently.
- Keep the job site clean and organized, including sweeping, clearing debris, and stacking materials.
- Help measure, cut, and assemble wood components under supervision.
- Learn to use hand and power tools safely and correctly.
Qualifications:
- Atleast 1+ year of framing or labour experience is required.
- A strong desire to learn the residential wood framing trade.
- Excellent physical stamina and strength, with the ability to lift heavy materials.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team environment.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Own basic personal protective equipment (PPE) like steel-toed boots (other PPE will be provided).
