Job Summary:
We are seeking a bright and hardworking individual to perform shipping and receiving duties for Axis Forestry. This position involves the receiving of parcels and pallets of incoming freight from vendors, sorting, inspection and organizing the inventory as well as preparation of outbound shipments to domestic and international customers. This position also supports the manufacturing floor with receiving and organizing raw materials and parts for new processor head builds.
Part-time or full-time hours available. Please indicate your availability on your application. Wage is based on previous experience in industrial shipping environments.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing the warehouse space for the workday
- Accepting the morning inbound freight
- Inspecting the inbound freight and preparing it for resale
- Kitting goods for resale or for use by mechanics
- Assisting the other shop staff to ensure shop supplies are in stock and the workspaces are clean
- Driving the company vehicle to various vendors within Kamloops to pick up parts/materials
- Picking inventory for outbound shipments or walk-in customers
- Preparing courier waybills by paper or by software and ensuring the shipments are ready by courier cut off times
- May assist the parts team by answering the phone during high volume calling times
- Organizing raw materials and pulling parts for the manufacturing floor
- Assisting with clean up and organization throughout the business
- Regular use of the forklift
Qualifications and Skills
- The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, organizational skills, work well as part of team and be interested in learning new things.
- 1 year previous experience with warehousing, and/or industrial shipping and receiving preferred
- Computer literacy, in particular with Microsoft Office products, required
- Excellent attention to detail required
- Forklift certification preferred
- Unrestricted Class 5 Drivers License preferred
- Physical ability to handle an active role that involves regular lifting of parcels throughout the day
