Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and mechanics, with the ability to work with various hand tools and equipment. This role involves interpreting blueprints and schematics, performing installations, and ensuring high-quality workmanship in all tasks related to sheet metal fabrication and installation.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specifications.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal products according to project requirements.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, bending, and shaping metal sheets.
- Perform restoration work on existing structures as needed, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
- Execute caulking and sealing tasks to ensure proper insulation and weatherproofing of installations.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople including carpenters, plumbers, and welders to complete projects efficiently.
- Conduct flooring installation and tile laying as part of broader construction projects when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience in sheet metal work or a related field such as construction or carpentry.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics is essential.
- Familiarity with hand tools, welding techniques, plumbing tasks, caulking methods, and restoration practices is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality workmanship consistently.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges on the job site.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$44.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
