WTTP 2820 Instrumentation II (3 credits)
This course offers a more advanced study into plant floor control and supervision. Students are introduced to the components of a computerized system and more advance topics such as analogue signal handling, timers and counters, as well as how discrete and analogue values can be passed from one Programmable Logic Controllers to another. This course will also provide students with an understanding of modern plant-wide control systems. These systems rely on emerging technologies such as computers, Programmable Logic Controllers, operator interfaces, and micro-processor based plant-floor devices together into a Supervisory, Control and Data Acquisition system.
Will deliver Module A Computer in Industry of WTTP 2820
The successful candidate will hold a related inter-provincial trade or a technology qualification or a related degree in Engineering. Preference will be given to candidate with instructional experience in water & wastewater treatment industry. Related work experience is essential.
In addition to excellent verbal and written communication skills, the preferred candidates will have demonstrated skills and abilities in adult education
- Be knowledgeable and experienced in the subject matter of the course
- Have received training or have successful experience in the active facilitation of learning in a collaborative environment
- Have direct experience working with current educational technologies, tools and Learning Management Systems
- Have demonstrated knowledge of effective pedagogy in the use of current educational technology and tools
- Have demonstrated skills and abilities in the delivery of flexible learning materials, the application of instructional technology and in the application of adult learning principles
