We are looking for 2 18mth Fixed term Senior Manager/Manager, TaxAre you a tax expert with a strong understanding of corporate tax compliance in the financial services or pension fund sector? Do you want to broaden your US or Canadian tax technical skillset? We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Tax Manager to join our tax team. In this role, you will be a key member of a dynamic, collaborative team that oversees all aspects of domestic and international income tax compliance and the tax implications of investment structures and fund operations.
You will work closely with internal finance, legal, and investment teams to support tax-efficient structuring of domestic and international investments, manage tax audits and regulatory inquiries, and monitor evolving tax legislation. Your expertise will help us manage tax risk and support the long-term financial security of Albertans.

Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting tax compliance and tax risk management for investment holdings with complicated structures and a global presence
- Managing and completing the annual filings of a large volume of domestic or international partnership and corporation tax return prepared in-house and with external advisors;
- Collaborating with accounting counterparts, Legal, investment managers and other business associates
- Assist with withholding tax recovery, enterprise tax support, and FATCA/CRS documentation
- Maintaining a tax database and calendar; assisting in implementing electronic tax database solutions.
- Handling and verifying the accuracy of tax notices; settling discrepancies with tax authorities for optimal results and arranging for timely tax payments.
- Assisting in tax review and audits as required
Our Ideal Candidate
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA).
- Minimum of 4 years experience in Tax
- Strong Accounting skills and experience in tax provision and complex reconciliations.
- Canadian, US and international tax experience.
- Working knowledge of federal, State and provincial income and sales tax legislation and administrative practice.
- Experience in both public practice and industry is preferred.
- Exposure to asset management and pension funds
- Highly motivated individual who will show initiative, is results-oriented, and is able to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Drive for teamwork and collaboration.

Highly adaptable and able to transfer tax knowledge across the entire platform of AIMCo’s investments.
