Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical authority for all Finite Element Analysis (FEA) activities, with a focus on ANSYS simulations in compliance with ASME Section VIII and/or Section III design codes.
- Lead all engineering efforts related to new product development, including conceptual design, feasibility studies, detailed analysis, and the definition of testing requirements.
- Collaborate directly with new and existing customers to address complex engineering challenges and deliver tailored technical solutions.
- Act as a key contributor in the development of innovative products and processes, driving technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Continuously expand your understanding of company processes, technologies, and customer needs to support long-term success.
- Deliver accurate and timely technical support in accordance with internal specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.
- Maintain close working relationships with teams in engineering, manufacturing, and business development across all Freudenberg Flow Technologies locations.
- Consistently uphold and embody the Freudenberg Guiding Principles and Business Values in all professional activities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of engineering experience in relevant industries, with a strong background in mechanical or structural design.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) related to product development in applicable sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree (BEng or BSc) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
- Must hold a valid P.Eng designation (Professional Engineer) in a Canadian province.
- Strong working knowledge of industry standards including ASME Section VIII, API, NORSOK, and DNV.
- Proficiency in ANSYS and SolidWorks is required; experience with Caesar II is considered an asset.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and drive tasks to completion with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated experience in cradle-to-grave product development, from concept through to final release and support.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
