Position Summary:The Senior Accountant - Revenue Accounting will report directly to the Manager, Revenue Accounting, and play a key role in supporting the Revenue Accounting team with compliance, reporting and IT transformation activities. The role includes but is not limited to month end close and reporting activities, reconciling key accounts, revenue share calculations and supporting the external audit. Additionally, this role will play a critical support role in the rollout of a new billing system, assisting with data cleansing and migration activities, UAT testing support and other ad-hoc tasks as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support monthly, quarterly and annual close activities:
- - Prepare assigned journal entries for close
- - Roll forward and prepare revenue reporting decks ensuring accuracy and completeness
- - Perform account reconciliations for key revenue and balance sheet general ledger accounts, understanding underlying balances, investigating, communicating and resolving discrepancies as identified
- Perform standard revenue share calculations as assigned, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms
- Support external audit requests by coordinating with auditors and internal business partners, reviewing documentation for quality and accuracy prior to submission
- Assist with data cleansing, data migration and UAT testing activities with system implementation
- Documentation of new processes, process controls and improvements resulting from system implementation
Skills & Qualifications:
- 3 to 5+ years of accounting experience
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
Preferred Experience:
- CPA designation
- Experience with NetSuite
- Understanding of US GAAP, especially revenue recognition is an asset
