Security Guard - Mississauga

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Security Guard to join our team at 6800 Millcreek Drive, Mississauga, ON. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about safety, customer service, and operational excellence.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Conduct screening procedures for all personnel, equipment, and materials entering or leaving the site
• Monitor and operate network-based video surveillance systems.

• Respond to and manage access control alarms in accordance with site protocols.

• Print and distribute access cards to authorized individuals.

• Create, verify, and manage contractor access tickets; provide escort services as required.

• Execute asset and key management procedures as outlined in the Post Orders

• Perform routine property patrols in accordance with site instructions.

• Liaise with Police, Fire, and EMS during emergency situations or incidents.

• Complete detailed patrol and incident reports using reporting software, and paper reports.

• Maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions with clients, visitors, and team members.

• Complete assigned training in a timely fashion.

• Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to support team needs.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager

• Valid Reliability Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain (minimum 5 years of Canadian residency).
• Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn security management and CRM software.
• Preferred – A diploma in Police Foundations
• Ability to stand/sit/walk for long periods of time
• Ability to complete frequent patrols
• Familiarity with building safety protocols and facility operations.
• Understanding of escalation procedures and incident response.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written); French language skills considered an asset.
• Excellent customer service and reception skills
