Job Overview
We are seeking a Scrum Master to lead and architect enterprise-grade modernization initiatives focused on transitioning legacy IBM-based systems to Azure cloud platforms. This role is critical to the transformation strategy and involves end-to-end design, documentation, and leadership across development, integration, and deployment efforts.
The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, assess current architecture, identify improvement areas, and develop robust, scalable, and secure cloud-native solutions using modern Azure services.
Skills & Experience Requirements
1. Technical Expertise
- Backend design/development: REST APIs, JPA, Hibernate, SQL, PL/SQL.
- Strong knowledge of Spring Framework (including Spring Integration).
- Extensive experience in enterprise integration patterns, middleware (ACE or MuleSoft), and messaging technologies (JMS, AMQP).
- Practical knowledge of cloud-based integration within Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Oracle or SQL Server databases.
2. Development Experience
- Proficient in system design from business requirements using UML, JEE, ESBs, and ETL tools.
- Experience building and consuming APIs, working with middleware and message queues.
3. System Analysis
- Solid experience in requirements gathering, system analysis, and documenting use cases.
- Demonstrated ability to prototype and present solutions to senior leadership.
4. Communication Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to lead discussions with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
5. Public Sector Experience
- Prior experience with OPS (Ontario Public Service) enterprise architecture, standards, and governance.
- Familiarity with OPS templates, documentation protocols, and Gateway Process policies.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Hands-on IT experience in development and solution design.
- Proven experience with system and API integration in enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated experience designing solutions across multiple integration platforms.
- Strong background in public sector I&IT projects is a plus.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months
Pay: From $90.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36.25 per week
