Project Overview:
The Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT) is undertaking a major modernization initiative to replace its legacy systems with a new Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) solution—PGTIMS. This program includes the development of a new data warehouse/lakehouse on the Azure cloud platform and the creation of modern Power BI reporting tools. This transformation is a critical step toward advancing analytics capabilities and streamlining data governance within OPGT.
Role Summary:
The Scrum Master will lead a team of IT professionals in delivering a large-scale, cloud-based data warehousing and reporting solution. You will be responsible for organizing and driving project delivery using Agile/Scrum principles, managing project backlogs, and ensuring that work progresses smoothly through Azure DevOps.
This position reports to the Hiring Manager and works in close collaboration with product owners, developers, and stakeholders in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead sprint planning, estimation, backlog grooming, and reporting deliverables through Azure DevOps.
- Guide the project team using Agile/Scrum best practices to ensure timely, on-budget delivery of the MVP reporting scope.
- Monitor and remove delivery impediments; escalate and resolve project risks/issues.
- Liaise with the product owner and document all key decisions in DevOps.
- Manage sprint and product backlogs; ensure alignment with overall project goals.
- Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and team interactions.
- Coordinate knowledge transfer via documentation, 1:1 meetings, and team sessions.
- Ensure compliance with OPS I&IT policies, data security protocols, and architectural standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience & Skills:
Mandatory:
- Minimum 5 years of experience leading technical teams as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile leadership role.
- Proven experience leading software development projects focused on large-scale data warehousing on Azure for analytics.
Highly Desired:
- In-depth knowledge of Scrum practices, roles, ceremonies, and tools.
- Expert use of Azure DevOps for project setup, dashboards, queries, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of data warehouse/lakehouse principles including ETL, data modeling, and governance.
- Experience working in Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE and/or Finance & Operations environments.
- Agile/Scrum or project methodology certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Lean Six Sigma Belt).
- Excellent communication skills in multi-stakeholder environments
