The Cariboo Regional District invites qualified applicants to apply for the casual on-call position of Satellite Office Clerk II. A copy of the job description is attached for reference.
SUMMARY: The successful candidate will have a diploma from a recognized technical institute in business administration or office administration and a minimum of 5 years’ job-related work experience or a combination of equivalent training and experience may be considered. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook email system, word processing 50 wpm, letter writing, and proofreading skills are essential to this position, all of which will be tested during the interview process. In addition, the incumbent will be able to demonstrate the ability to meet and deal with the public in a pleasant and tactful manner. The primary duties and responsibilities for this position include administrative support services with respect to typing correspondence and other documents, preparing and maintaining files, records, reports, processing incoming and outgoing mail, and basic cashier related duties. The candidate must have a valid Driver’s License.
WAGE: This is a BCGEU position. The rate of pay is $28.13 per hour, plus $1.50 in lieu of benefits, 6% vacation pay and 4.8% statutory holiday pay. A standard probationary period based on the aggregate of hours to reflect sixty working days will apply.
WORK SITE LOCATION: The successful candidate will operate out of the Cariboo Regional District Quesnel Office located at, 102-410 Kinchant Street, Quesnel, BC.
HOURS OF WORK: This position will cover the regular Satellite Office Clerks’ vacation and sick days and may be required to work one day a week during times of increased workload. To be considered, candidates must be available a minimum of 20 hours per week from Tuesday through Thursday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Should the successful candidate’s availability fall below the minimum requirement, their position will be terminated.
