We are a local farm that specializes in locally grown meat, dairy, and produce. We process our own meat and poultry on site. Our team is looking for a hard-working individual who is passionate about farm-to-table, natural food.
This position requires working in the butcher storefront. We’re looking for a dynamic and dependable team member with strong sales skills and a passion for customer interaction. This role plays a key part in driving in-store sales and ensuring an excellent shopping experience. This position is part time for the foreseeable future.
Strong product sales skills are a must and any meat knowledge is a bonus. Fluent English is a must
Duties
Engage directly with customers to promote and sell meat, poultry, and grocery products
Highlight and upsell sale items and specialty products with confidence and product knowledge
Operate the cash register, handle customer transactions, and accurately count tills at the beginning and end of shifts
Open and close the store as needed, following established procedures
Assist with fulfilling retail and wholesale orders, including picking, packing, and preparing for shipment
Maintain a clean, organized storefront with attractive, accurate signage and displays
Weigh, package, label, and price meat and grocery items
Perform routine quality inspections on products to ensure freshness and compliance
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a safe and hygienic workspace
Skills
Strong sales-driven mindset with the ability to confidently recommend and upsell products
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Willingness to handle raw meat and work in a food retail environment
Prior experience in food retail or meat sales is an asset, but not required
General Qualifications: Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, lift heavy items, and work in cold environments Strong communication with team members and task management Availability to work a variety of hours, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends Ability to work independently and in a team environment Attention to detail Effective written and verbal communication skills Basic math skills Time management and problem-solving skills Willingness to learn and/or possesses prior knowledge of meat cuts Reliable transportation and attendance dependability Physical demands: constant moving, talking and standing for at least two consecutive hours. It may involve stooping, kneeling, crouching and carrying up to 50lbs
