Sales/Business Development Lead - Oakville

About the Role:

The Sales/Business Development Lead will focus on driving sales, managing stakeholder relationships, and promoting company offerings within the suite metering and utility sub-metering industries. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the incumbent will demonstrate strong sales acumen, technical expertise, and exceptional interpersonal skills to navigate long sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders. This individual will also represent the organization at trade shows, conduct presentations, and support marketing initiatives to grow the company's market presence.

Duties include:

  • Lead sales effort for suite metering and sub-metering services, targeting both existing and new condominium and apartment developments.
  • Educate customers on utility and sub-metering sales offerings, tailoring presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Deliver Presentations to developers, condominium boards, building owners, and residents
  • Represent the company at trade shows and industry events and deliver presentations to industry organizations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with property managers, building developers, and electrical and mechanical contractors.
  • Conduct cold calls to condominium and apartment sites across the GTA and Southern Ontario.
  • Prepare sales materials and respond to inquiries via email, phone, and in-person meetings
  • Attend evening meetings with property managers, condominium boards, and developers to discuss service offerings.
  • Support project implementation in coordination with GHMS project management staff
  • Manage and update account databases using company-provided software
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum, 1-2 years relevant sales and or sales/business development experience.
  • Post-secondary diploma in Business Administration, Project Management or related discipline and or equivalent work experience
  • Familiarity with electrical, water, gas and thermal metering concepts will be an asset.
  • Valid Class ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s Licence with an excellent driving record

Other Success Factors:

  • Strong sales experience, particularly in technical sales with long cycles (6-12+ months)
  • Proficiency in tactical sales planning and execution, with experience in door-to-door cold calls
  • Strong presentation skills, both one-on-one and in group settings, with the ability to simplify technical concepts for lay audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Highly organized with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Demonstrates flexibility and projects a positive/professional demeanor
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Proven ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including:
    • Property Mangers
    • Developers
    • Building Owners
    • Electrical and General Contractors
  • Brand ambassador - enable, engage, encourage and exemplify the behaviours and attitudes of the brand
  • Excellent safety and attendance record
