Robotic Drilling & Trimming Operator
Location: Beachcomber Hot Tubs Group Inc - Main Plant 13245 Comber Way, Surrey BC
The position of Robotic Drilling & Trimming Operator is responsible for drilling/trimming fiberglass hot tub shells, working within the production team to meet the daily production schedule and Beachcomber’s quality standards and safety policies.
Work Hours:
Full-time position, 40 hours/week. Opportunity for Overtime during Peak Periods.
Day Shift Work: Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Compensation & Benefits:
Base Wage: $22.65/hourly rate plus Environment Premium.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Determine/verify the hot tub’s options and configuration from the work order to accurately initiate the
correct program for the robot and trim table.
- Operate heavily automated robotic and trimming equipment to all applicable safety and procedural
standards.
- Perform manual drilling, sanding, and grinding operations frequently using hand tools.
- Load/Unload hot tubs from automated equipment safely and carefully to prevent damage to equipment
or the hot tubs.
- Inspect shells in accordance with the Production Traveler, work instruction and quality standards.
- Ensure all quality standards are met.
- Report quality defects, damages, and problems to Lead Hand/Supervisor/QA for correction.
- Use hand tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Return all tools and cleaning utensil to the shadow boards after use.
- Perform equipment setup/teardown at the start/end of shift.
- Use caution when handling and moving shells on the rollers to prevent damage.
- Perform daily/weekly inspections of robot and trim table tools and equipment.
- Perform repairs to fiberglass shells. Re-inspect shells to ensure repairs meet quality standards.
- Maintain plastic wrap on crane pendant. Inspect the crane daily for defects and damage.
- Complete daily production schedule, as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Proactively follow quality standards, procedures, and work instructions
- Proactively follow safety standards and guidelines
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workstation.
- Perform daily cleanup in accordance with 5S duties and activity lists.
- Complete quality and production reports accurately and legibly
- Perform on-the-job training and monitor the performance of employees in training.
- Any other duties, as assigned by Management.
- Ability to work Overtime as required.
Decision Making:
- Determine when tools/equipment need repairs or maintenance.
- Determine the disposition of rejected shells in conjunction with the Supervisor/QA Staff
- Determine when the work is unbalanced at other workstations and assist other operators in the area.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Must be capable of performing manual drilling/trimming responsibilities based on work order.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. with 2 people.
- Basic level English communication skills may be required.
- Use basic hand tools and manufacturing equipment safely.
- Provide on-the-job training to new/existing employees.
- Must be clean shaven to wear a respirator.
- Work under dusty/difficult conditions.
- Ability to operate equipment with computerized interface.
- Handle chemicals safely.
