Big White is currently seeking a qualified, creative and detail-oriented Visual Merchandiser to join our team for the 2025-26 winter season.
Our Visual Merchandiser will be imaginative, inspired, and driven by creativity and originality. They will be responsible for the visual presentation across a variety of unique mountain retail outlets, featuring products ranging from ski and snowboard equipment to fashion, giftware, and more. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in visual merchandising; while experience in the snowsports industry is a plus, it is not essential. At times, the Visual Merchandiser may also assist customers on the retail floor—providing outstanding service through strong product knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for helping guests find gear and gifts that enhance their experience and create lasting memories of their time at Big White.
Duties include:
- Creating and implementing in-store displays that effectively promote merchandise, enhance the customer experience, and drive retail sales
- Provide guidance and training to retail sales associates on display maintenance and product placement, ensuring displays remain fresh and aligned with merchandising standards
- Oversee inventory levels, schedule restocks, and ensure the availability of key products
- Ensure all retail spaces are tidy, well-organized, and professionally presented, maintaining a high standard of visual appeal across the store
- Provide feedback to management on the performance of product displays, identifying trends, slow-moving products, and potential improvements to merchandising strategies.
- Contribute to the strategic layout of the store, helping to optimize traffic flow and product placement for maximum customer engagement and sales
- Attending sessions to develop excellent product knowledge
- Assist customers on the sales floor when and as required by the Manager
- Sign creation
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational skills
- Professional attitude
- Leadership skills
- Two years of experience as a Visual Merchandiser or in a related retail/creative field, demonstrating hands-on experience with display creation and maintenance
- Capable of prioritizing tasks and working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
- Creative & Detail-Oriented
- Adaptability
- Must be approachable, dependable and a strong team player
- Must be able to deal with people of various ages with animation and with patience
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift merchandise, and set up displays, ensuring stores are well-presented at all times
