Job Summary:
The Repair Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a range of restaurant equipment—excluding refrigeration and gas appliances. This role supports daily service operations through dispatch coordination and reports directly to the Service Manager. The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and has a strong understanding of small appliance mechanics and electrical components.
Wage: $22-$26 per hour
Duties & Responsibilities
· Diagnose and repair non-refrigerated, non-gas restaurant equipment (e.g., toasters, warmers, mixers, blenders)
· Perform regular maintenance and preventative service on equipment
· Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
· Maintain clear communication with dispatch and service team
· Log all work performed, parts used, and time spent via company systems
· Follow safety procedures and company service standards
· Respond to emergency service calls when scheduled
· Keep service vehicle and tools organized and in good working condition
Skills/Qualifications
· 2-3 years’ experience in equipment maintenance or repair
· Experience with restaurant equipment repair is a strong asset
· Strong understanding of electrical systems and small appliance repair
· Valid G-class driver’s license
· Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
· Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· Enjoy figuring out how things work and solving mechanical problems
· Are self-motivated and accountable
· Thrive in a busy, customer-focused environment
· Communicate clearly and professionally
· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding settings
Nice to Have:
- Experience with espresso or coffee machines
- WHMIS, First Aid, or fall arrest certifications (can be provided)
Reports Directly To: Service Manager
· Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
· After-Hours: Occasional coverage as needed (overtime paid after 44 hours)
· Location: Niagara Region (occasional travel within service area)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
