Job Summary:
The Resource Center & Pre-Employment Lifeskills Coordinator provides leadership and oversight of Aunt Leah’s New Westminster Resource Centre, a vibrant, trauma-informed space supporting youth from foster care and vulnerable mothers. This supervisory role manages a range of integrated life skills and employment-readiness programs — including Bootstraps, Food Security, Branches, Lifeskills Workshops, and Sharing Circle — with a focus on meeting basic needs, building confidence and connection, and developing the life skills necessary for long-term self-sufficiency.
The Coordinator is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the Resource Centre and directly supervising staff involved in Life Skills and Bootstraps programming. In collaboration with the Director of Training & Lifeskills, the Coordinator also supports the supervision and daily guidance of the Resource Center Administrator. With strong organizational and managerial skills, this role leads program planning, delivery, evaluation, and reporting. The Coordinator also builds and maintains partnerships with community and employer stakeholders, and contributes to strategic planning and program development in alignment with Aunt Leah’s mission and funding requirements.
Reports To: Director of Training and Lifeskills Programs
Compensation: $33.00 / hr.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 2 years post-secondary education in Social Services, Education, or a related field, and/or a relevant combination of education and experience combined with general suitability
· Minimum 2 years experience in program coordination and staff supervision
· Experience supporting youth from government care and marginalized populations
Requirements:
· Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (including vulnerable persons) and Local Police Information Check
· MCFD clearance
Assets:
· A valid BC driver’s license, access to a vehicle with $5,000,000 in business liability insurance, and clean driver’s abstract
· Food Safe Certification
· Mental Health First Aid Certification
· Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership of Resource Space & Life Skills Programming
- Oversee day-to-day program operations of the New Westminster Resource Space
- Provide leadership in coordinating drop-in services, workshops, case management supports, and scheduled programming
- Lead and coordinate life skills programming including Food Security, Lifeskills Workshops, Social Activities, and Sharing Circles
- Supervise volunteers supporting Life Skills programming and drop-in services
- Set and monitor targets for scheduled activities and overall program engagement
- Coordinate with external and internal partners delivering services in the Resource Center
- Manage space scheduling, participant flow, and safe operations
Pre-Employment Life Skills & Bootstraps Programming
- Plan and deliver experiential life skills and employment readiness training
- Ensure programming supports diverse learning styles and non-classroom environments
- Deliver or connect participants to workshops on customer service, point of sale, inventory, communication, leadership, professionalism, and time/task management
- Coach youth through job readiness and connect to employment and/or educational pathways
- Partner with the Education Department in shared intakes and information sessions on Aunt Leah’s Education and Employment Services, ensuring funding eligibility assessments are completed for individuals in both departments
Staff Supervision & Team Leadership
- Supervise staff involved in Life Skills and Bootstraps programming
- Collaborate with the Director of Training & Lifeskills to support the supervision and day-to-day guidance of the Resource Center Administrator
- Facilitate regular team meetings, individual coaching, and performance reviews
- Support staff to deliver programming that aligns with trauma-informed practice and the organization’s outcomes framework, including increasing youth confidence, life skills, and readiness for next steps
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Build and maintain partnerships with community agencies and employers
- Coordinate service provision and facilitate referrals
- Advocate for participants and ensure equitable access to services
- Integrate youth voice and feedback, including through Youth Advisory Committee engagement, to inform programming and strategic direction
- Support culturally grounded programming and ensure space for cultural safety, connection, and healing
Program Planning, Evaluation & Administration
- Develop and maintain program guidelines and procedures
- Track participation, outcomes, and program statistics
- Complete reports for funders and internal reporting (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
- Contribute to budget planning and monitor program expenditures
- Align program activities with the Resource Centre’s Theory of Change, ensuring outputs and outcomes support long-term goals of housing stability, income generation, and community connection
- Use logic model indicators to track progress and inform continuous program improvement
Working Conditions:
· This position may require working occasional evenings and weekends and travel to various locations within Metro Vancouver
· Works primarily in an office setting from the New Westminster head office
· Hours of work – 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours a day) generally Monday to Friday (9:00 am to 5:00 pm); with the ability to be flexible as per business needs
· On-call as scheduled on the on-call roster
