Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a history of working in residential service plumbing, expertise in well pumps, and an ability to quote drain replacements and repairs.
At Harris Plumbing, technical expertise on plumbing systems is a base requirement, and we expect our team members to excel at educating clients, offer multiple options to clients, and have customer service skills. This role requires a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction, ensuring that all plumbing work is completed to the highest standards, and high value work is explained and quoted frequently.
Service Area
The service area is Vaughan, the surrounding York Region (King, Newmarket, Aurora) as well as occasional work in Simcoe County (Barrie, Innisfil, etc.)
There are weekly meetings in Barrie, ON.
Responsibilities
- Work independently
- Diagnose problems and areas of opportunity for clients to fix or improve their plumbing systems and water quality
- Educate clients on the full scope of work that clients are applicable to them
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and with confidence with clients
- Perform routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify potential issues before they become major problems
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, water treatment appliances, various pumps, pressure tanks, and electric water heaters
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various plumbing tasks.
- Diagnose plumbing issues and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with plumbing codes and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area during all phases of the job.
Skills
- Customer service skills and communication skills
- Journeyman Plumber
- TSSA gas 2 license (preferred)
- Clean driving record, G license
- Technical proficiency in jet pumps and submersible pumps (nice to have)
- Experience opening and closing seasonal cottages (nice to have)
- Ability to learn and use smartphones and modern software to manage estimates, work orders, job-site photos, invoices, and payment processing
- Proficiency with well systems is nice to have
- Experience using power tools safely and effectively.
- Solid mechanical knowledge related to plumbing systems.
- Proficient with hand tools commonly used in plumbing work.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to plumbing tasks.
