Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the resident, caregivers, and professionals to set and achieve personal goals
- Provide personal care and support health needs
- Plan engaging activities that build skills and encourage community connections
- Prepare healthy meals and manage household tasks
- Administer medications and assist with finances
- Support advocacy, relationship-building, and healthy lifestyle choices
- Provide transportation to appointments and outings
- Respond to emergencies and manage risk
- Maintain accurate records and budget documentation
- Annual vacation starting from 3 weeks after 1 year and increasing with seniority, as per the Collective Agreement
- Stat Holiday Bank accrued at 5%, to be used on unworked stat days
- 1-day sick time accrual per month
- Wage increases with every 2000 hrs. of seniority, up until Step 4

- Interior Community Services is a Municipal Pension Plan (MPP) employer. Part-time employees' entitlement to MPP is determined based on the length of service and accrued wages. If the candidate is already a contributing member, then enrollment is on hire.
- Certificate in Community or School Support Work, Resident Care Aide, or Home Support Work
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience working with seniors with diverse developmental abilities
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Build trusting, respectful relationships with individuals, families, teams, and professionals
- Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging behaviours, crises, and aggression
- Support life skills development using a strengths-based approach
- Develop and implement client-focused plans, schedules, and goals
- Work independently and collaboratively as a reliable team member
- Apply critical thinking and follow policies with sound judgment
- Take initiative and follow through on program needs
- Navigate and resolve conflict effectively
- Document clearly and accurately
- Maintain a home environment: cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping, yard work
- Prepare nutritious, balanced meals
- Valid BC Class 4 Unrestricted Driver’s License
- Safe driving record
- Access to a reliable vehicle (an asset)
- Physical ability to support individuals with personal care and recreational activities—includes lifting, transferring, mobility support, and using health equipment safely
- Training provided at no cost (CPR-C, Mandt-RCT, SafeTalk, Food Safety, Medication Management, etc.); existing certifications are a plus
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (through BC Ministry of Public Safety)
- Union membership required (1.85% dues deducted from pay)
LOCATION: Kamloops, BC
STATUS: Part-Time
SCHEDULE: 16 hrs./wk., Friday-Saturday, 4 PM -12 AM
REPORTS TO: Program Coordinator, Crestline House
COMPENSATION: $25.95 - $29.76 per hour (Grid 10 as per collective agreement)
