The Residence Worker supports participants in a residential setting to identify individual goals and develop life skills necessary to live as independently as possible. Service delivery is based on a client centered, trauma informed and non-judgmental perspective.
What you’d be doing:
- Participate in the assessment, goal setting and program planning for clients.
- Provide supervision and support to mitigate individual and program risk to ensure safety, comfort, and wellness.
- Work closely with identified community resources for each client.
- Actively involve clients in decision making to improve their own identity, purpose, and self-esteem.
- Complete wellness checks/room checks.
- Monitor and move along community members who are loitering in and around the property.
- Provide crisis intervention as required including overdose responses by ensuring immediate access to medical services and completing necessary critical incident reports.
- Maintain and submit accurate reports and statistics, logbooks, and daily activities.
- Participate in the assessment, goal setting and program planning.
- Provide life skills training such as meal preparation, housekeeping, personal care skills and personal finance and implement personal service plans.
- Participate in various client-focused activities in accordance with care plans.
- Provide emotional support and feedback to residents and their families.
- Identify social, economic, recreational, and educational services in the community to meet clients’ needs.
- Perform other related duties as required.
What you bring:
- Certificate in a related human / social service field plus a minimum of one-year recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
- Must have a current First Aid certificate, completion of NVCI or MANDT.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain clear Criminal Record Check for the vulnerable sector.
- Relevant knowledge about substance use, addiction, mental illness, and recovery.

Wage:Grid 10 ($25.95-$29.76)
