Are you an organized, detail-oriented, and proactive professional with a passion for marketing research? Are you someone that thrives in a fully remote environment, enjoys collaborating with multiple key stakeholders, and takes pride in the work you do? Do you have a sense of curiosity, enjoy learning new things, and want to better understand the healthcare and pharmaceutical market? MD Analytics, a rapidly growing Marketing Research company, is seeking a talented Report Design Associate to produce visually intuitive reports for research projects in the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical space.

The Opportunity: Report Design Associate in the Greater Vancouver Area

Working with a team in the Greater Vancouver Area, you will be working in a multidisciplinary position that combines elements of a production artist and graphic designer, reporting to the Report Design Manager.

In this role you will create slide layouts for market research reports from provided content, working primarily in PowerPoint, supported by the Adobe suite. You will ensure that reports match the visual aesthetics of a company style guide along with any project specific considerations, and that all content adheres to proper alignment and hierarchy.

You will be responsible for selecting visual elements (icons, graphics, illustrations, charts) from a library, appropriate to the topic and nature of the data presented. You may also be required to edit images, such as photographs and vector illustrations, and collaborate with teammates to create new assets as required by project needs.

To achieve our goal of creating reports that aid deeper understanding, you will work on projects collaboratively with internal research teams and other report designers, communicating frequently.

MD Analytics is a leader in remote work and transitioned all employees to fully remote positions in 2017. Candidates for this position must be comfortable working from home full-time while adequately managing potential distractions and be willing to engage in an established remote work company culture.

The Ideal Candidate: Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in a relevant design field, or equivalent experience.
  • Great attention to detail & strong design skills:
    • Skilled in layout production, with understanding of grid, alignment, hierarchy, and typography.
    • Understanding of visual communication, comfortable using a range of techniques and styles to convey ideas through imagery.
    • Knowledge of fundamental visual design concepts: colour theory, negative space, proximity, grouping, iconography, etc.
    • Comfortable working in a PC environment in PowerPoint, Excel, and other Microsoft Office suite software, and in raster/vector image software such as the Adobe suite (Photoshop/Illustrator).
    • Familiarity with photography, video, motion graphics, or sound editing a plus.
  • Flexible and able change priorities quickly, balance multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality.
  • A good communicator, verbal and written, with strong English comprehension.
  • Self-driven learner: Seeks feedback, embraces the iterative process of design, and works creatively within constraints.
  • Experience working with data and data visualization a plus.
  • Knowledge of web technologies/concepts a plus (HTML, CSS, SEO concepts).
  • As a Canada-wide organization, proficiency in French is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

As part of a high-performing team, we offer a competitive salary, health benefits and RRSP matching. We also offer professional development through industry accredited organizations as well as a flexible team environment that recognizes and rewards individual achievements. Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications

Located in the greater Vancouver area, this position is home-office based with local-office in-person events every 2-3 months, and a company-wide in-person event annually. This specific role is only open to candidates living within the Greater Metropolitan areas of Vancouver.
