Sutcliffe Homes & Renovations is a family owned, high end custom builder and renovator serving the Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and surrounding area. Additions, extensive renovations, custom homes, and interior renovations would be our most common project types. We are a mid-sized business with a great team and work culture.
We are currently looking for a Renovation Carpenter to support our Construction Manager and Lead Carpenters in the day to day construction and management of our projects. Responsibilities begin with our mantra of a clean, organized site and continue into the creation of every aspect of fantastic renovations while ensuring an excellent customer experience.
You will have support from our office staff on all projects and work with a team of talented Construction Personnel as well as established, long-term Trades to be part of the successful project execution team. In addition, we provide all major tools and schedule our projects year-round, without seasonal slow-downs.
The ideal candidate would be fully knowledgeable in all areas of renovations, including earthwork, foundations, framing, drywall and taping, flooring and tile, trim and finish carpentry. However, we welcome candidates that fall primarily on either the initial earthwork/foundation/framing or the finishing sides of construction. A strong construction skillset, positive attitude, and ability to learn and to share knowledge with others is key.
Sutcliffe offers an opportunity to grow through project management and skill development.
As part of our team, you'll become one of the representatives that our clients work most closely with during the construction phase of their project. As a result, these are a few of the core characteristics we believe you must possess in order to position yourself for the most success:
- Dedication to excellence in workmanship and efficiency, both for yourself and for others
- Effectively communicate with a variety of project stakeholders
- Ability to positively lead a team and teach and train other junior members in the construction techniques you possess
- Understand your own strengths and limitations, which will enable you to seek the knowledge of others around you to achieve success
- Understand the value of working together as a team and demonstrate the ability to motivate and lead others to success
- Possess a combination of renovation and/or on site construction experience in residential renovations, additions, and custom homes
Note: all applications must have a vehicle and valid G license, as well as fluency in English
We thank all applicants in advance. However, only qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview.
