Role Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, outgoing, and creative Recreation Coordinator to lead inclusive, wellness-focused programming for seniors living in our supportive housing suites at Three Links Manor. This is a part-time position that requires working independently while engaging residents through meaningful and accessible activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead weekly recreational activities (e.g. exercise class, cooking classes, coffee and birthday socials, cognitive games, art workshops, and educational sessions)
- Organize seasonal events (e.g. holiday parties, BBQs, Easter brunch, Thanksgiving celebrations)
- Support resident-led initiatives such as the gardening club
- Purchase supplies and ingredients required for activities
- Encourage participation and adapt programming for various physical and cognitive abilities
- Promote inclusion, especially for newcomers and residents with mobility challenges
- Coordinate logistics for occasional group outings
- Create and distribute a monthly recreation calendar and event posters
- Work collaboratively with the Community Development Manager and Building Manager
- Track attendance and provide quarterly activity reports
Qualifications:
- Experience working with older adults in supportive or independent housing
- Strong communication skills and an approachable, easy-going demeanor
- Creativity and enthusiasm for community building
- Experience planning and facilitating events
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- FOODSAFE Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Class 5 driver’s license (strongly preferred – regular supply pickups required)
Education Requirements:
- Diploma in Recreation Therapy
Wage: Commensurate with experience
Start Date: August 2025
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: $23.78-$33.78 per hour
