The City of Brooks’ Recreation Department has an opening for one (1) Casual Operator.
Job Details & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Recreation Foreman, you will perform all necessary building maintenance tasks in the Recreation facilities to approved standards on an assigned shift, including parking lot entrance clean-up and snow removal. In addition, you will work efficiently on an independent basis and with limited supervision and provide superior customer service to all patrons of the Recreation facilities. You will also operate the ice resurfacer machine and make/maintain arena ice according to approved standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- You must have completed the twelfth (12th) school grade, preferably supplemented by an Arena Operator Level I certificate. Standard First Aid and Fall Protection is an asset.
- You must possess a general understanding of general building maintenance and custodial skills. Zamboni ice maintenance experience is an asset.
- You must also possess strong public relations, communication and interpersonal skills and the willingness and ability to perform physically strenuous work in sometimes harsh weather conditions (i.e. snow removal).
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required to be considered for the position.
Compensation & Benefits:
- The 2025 starting rate for this position is $22.38 per hour. The successful candidate will also receive a free membership to the JBS Canada Centre.
A clean criminal record check and a driver’s abstract will be required before an offer of employment is presented to the successful candidate.
