Summary
We’re currently seeking a Real Estate Conveyancer to join our growing team in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a temporary, full-time position to provide coverage during a parental leave. While the length of the assignment may vary, it is expected to last several months, with the possibility of future opportunities based on organizational needs.
As a Real Estate Conveyancer at Akash Homes, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless completion of real estate transactions. This role requires a deep understanding of Alberta’s legal framework, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively to facilitate the conveyancing process. Reporting directly to the Senior Paralegal, you’ll be a key player in maintaining compliance and supporting the success of our projects.
What You’ll Work On:
- Document Preparation: Draft and review purchase agreements, transfer documents, and other legal paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance with Alberta laws.
- Research & Requests: Conduct land title searches, tax searches, and request transfers and payouts as needed.
- Closing Coordination: Verify that all necessary documents, funds, and approvals are in place to facilitate a smooth closing process.
- Trust Account Management: Handle deposits and disbursements through trust accounts in accordance with legal and financial regulations, including proficiency with Esi-Law 360.
- Team Collaboration: Provide direct support to the Senior Paralegal, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and operational procedures.
What You’ll Bring:
- Proven experience in real estate conveyancing with a strong understanding of Alberta’s legal requirements.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the real estate industry.
- Proficient in Esi-Law 360 and other relevant software, with a strong grasp of trust account management.
- Demonstrated accuracy in preparing and reviewing legal documents.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player who communicates effectively and works well with diverse stakeholders to achieve common goals.
