Radio Technician (Contract – Full Time, Up to 6 Months)

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Radio Technician for a full-time contract (up to 6 months). The successful candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting, programming, and supporting Motorola radios, specifically within the oil & gas sector. This role requires travel to remote sites and close collaboration with our field operations team and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, program, and support Motorola radios for field and operational use.
- Service and install communication equipment (including radios, rig intercoms, cellular boosters, and satellite systems).
- Confirm schedules and maintain professional customer interactions.
- Complete required safety documentation (Pre-Job Assessments, Inspections, etc.) at every worksite.
- Conduct on-site equipment testing, documentation, and inventory control.
- Maintain company property, including field trucks, service tools, and communication equipment.
- Prepare and complete service reports, work orders, and invoicing documentation in a timely manner.
- Ensure shop supplies and equipment are clean, organized, and field-ready.
- Perform other duties as required by management.
Qualifications
- Mandatory: Hands-on experience with Motorola radios (programming, troubleshooting, and support).
- Background supporting communication systems in the oil & gas sector is required.
- Comfortable with out-of-town travel, including hotel or camp stays.
- A team-oriented mindset with strong commitment to safety.
- Ability to communicate effectively by phone, email, and text.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, if required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in field environments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote sites.
