Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be physically able to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position such as site visits and investigations
- Must be willing and able to travel with occasional overnight stays as required including in remote areas
- Must possess and maintain a valid full stage Class 5 Manitoba Driver's Licence
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Bachelor`s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, a physical science or equivalent. A combination of education and experience may be considered
- Relevant work experience in the rehabilitation, construction or related environmental field (contaminated sites, environmental assessment and planning)
- Experience managing projects
- Supervisory experience
- Experience managing contracts and/or grants
- Experience with financial management
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to manage the development of programs, policies, and work plans to address emerging issues and address strategic priorities
- Ability to work independently, under tight timelines and with minimal supervision
Duties:
Reporting to the Director, the Quarry Rehabilitation Manager leads the provincial quarry rehabilitation program for the department of Environment and Climate Change. This includes the planning, organizing, budgeting, and direction of the technical and administrative activities for the program, as well as strategic planning to address priorities and issues regarding quarry rehabilitation on private and crown lands.
