The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician supports the QA Manager in upholding the facility’s food safety and quality standards, including HACCP, prerequisite programs, and BRC compliance. This role is responsible for conducting inspections, monitoring and verifying tasks, maintaining documentation, training team members, and participating in internal audits and sampling activities. The position also includes pre-operational inspections, data entry, and involvement in various quality projects as assigned by the QA Manager.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct environmental swabbing (ACC, ATP, and Listeria)
• Perform daily monitoring and verification to ensure HACCP system compliance
• Observe and assess employee task completion for accuracy and compliance
• Maintain and organize records of monitoring and verification activities
• Provide associate training as needed (deviations, preventive actions, updates)
• Approve products for shipment based on established QA protocols
• Coordinate product sampling based on program and regulatory requirements
• Sample ingredients, review Certificates of Analysis (CofAs), and authorize ingredients for use
• Collect water and air samples for testing
• Verify product labels for accuracy and compliance
• Enter and manage testing data in electronic spreadsheets and systems
• Coordinate product holds and releases as needed
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
• Solid understanding of HACCP principles and regulatory standards related to meat processing
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ability to generate reports and correspondence
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to work independently
• Strong sense of teamwork, leadership and ability to work with any functional group of individuals including senior management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with associates and external partners
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Diploma or degree in a technical or science-related field is considered an asset
• Must have reliable transportation.
