The QA Associate plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Quality Assurance department. This position is responsible for executing line clearances, managing QA material status, approving labels on the production floor, and providing general QA support during manufacturing activities. The QA Associate will work closely with the Senior QA Specialist and the QAP to uphold Galaxie’s Quality Management System (QMS) and support client-related quality activities.
Hours of Work: 7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday
Location: 780 Concession Road 8W, Puslinch ON
Key Responsibilities
- Perform line clearances and ensure production areas meet QA standards before and after batch processing.
- Manage QA material status, including labeling, segregation, and documentation of approved, rejected, and quarantined materials.
- Review and approve labels on the production floor to ensure compliance with product specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Support QA presence on the floor during production, packaging, and sanitation activities.
- Assist in maintaining documentation and records related to batch production, deviations, and non-conformances.
- Collaborate with the Senior QA Specialist and QAP to support QMS activities including CAPAs, change controls, and document control.
- Participate in client audits and assist in preparing documentation and responses.
- Support traceability and inventory control of cannabis products.
- Assist with internal audits and inspections.
- Other support duties as delegated and assigned by the QA Manager and Senior QA Specialist.
Qualifications and Experience
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a science-related field (Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Food Science, etc.).
- Experience in the cannabis industry in QA Production Quality or Quality Control roles is required.
- Familiarity with GPP, GMP, HACCP, or other quality standards.
- Knowledge of the Cannabis Act and related regulations is an asset.
- Valid Health Canada security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety and quality.
