CSL develops and manufactures High Voltage Insulator Coatings (HVIC), Roof Coatings, Anti-Graffiti Coatings, Corrosion Maintenance Coatings, as well as silicone sealants.
Overview
The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for sourcing and procuring raw materials, indirect manufacturing products, and industrial components to support production. This role manages all aspects of the purchasing process, including order analysis, requisition management, supplier negotiations, contract administration, budgeting, and compliance. The Supervisor ensures that procurement activities align with CSL’s quality, environmental, and compliance standards while achieving company goals profitably, ethically, and sustainably.
Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Sourcing
- Develop, implement, and manage procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Research and analyze cost drivers, market trends, risks, and alternative suppliers for key materials and services.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, service, and delivery performance.
- Develop and manage RFQs/RFPs to ensure competitive pricing and optimal value.
Supplier & Contract Management
- Negotiate and administer contracts, pricing, terms, and service level agreements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or service.
- Monitor supplier compliance and performance metrics, implementing improvements when needed.
- Manage onsite contractors to ensure work is performed as per scope.
Purchasing Operations & Inventory Management
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions; prepare and process purchase orders and related documentation.
- Oversee inventory planning and control activities for manufacturing or distribution units; forecast future needs and coordinate with relevant departments.
- Manage inventory levels, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accuracy of records and reporting.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect, analyze, and report on procurement data to identify trends, cost variances, and opportunities for savings.
- Prepare regular reports and insights for senior management to support strategic decisions.
Continuous Improvement & Project Management
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within procurement and supply chain activities.
- Lead or support small- to medium-scale projects related to sourcing, cost reduction, or operational efficiency.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, procedures, and compliance obligations.
- Support the continuous improvement of CSL’s quality and environmental management systems.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3 years of procurement analysis experience and 1–3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with large ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- SCMP, PMAC, or CPP designation preferred.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment.
