Position Summary:

St. Joseph's Care Group is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our dynamic Mental Health & Addictions team. This position may involve working in inpatient, outpatient, or community-based settings, depending on service needs and candidate experience. As a Psychiatrist, you will play a pivotal role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with a wide range of psychiatric disorders. This role is ideal for a physician who values multidisciplinary collaboration and is committed to holistic, recovery-oriented care.


Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate with the following:


Education/Experience:

  • Licensed to practice medicine with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and/or Registration as a Fellow in Psychiatry with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.
  • Demonstrated experience working within interprofessional practice model
  • Knowledge of applicable acts, regulations, legislation, programs and policies


Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong clinical skills in general adult psychiatry (additional expertise in addictions, dual diagnosis an asset)
  • Superior ability to communicate effectively and concisely and to provide / explain relevant information in response to inquiries or issues at a level appropriate to the audience
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships or partnerships with a diverse range of individuals
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a contributing member of an interprofessional team to consistently meet program goals and address client needs
  • Ability to develop partnerships and facilitate discussion relating to assessment, treatment, intervention strategies
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to provide consultation and direction to medical students and residents, physician assistant students, and clinical staff; proven ability to share skills and knowledge with others
  • Proven conflict management abilities and mediation skills



CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
As travel between work locations is necessary, access to timely and convenient transportation, whether private or public, is essential.
  • This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
