We’re Hiring: Estimator & Project Manager – Nanaimo, BC
We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Estimator and Project Manager to join our growing team in Nanaimo, BC. This is a key role that oversees projects from the initial bid through to final completion. If you’re a quick-thinking, energetic, and hands-on professional who thrives both independently and collaboratively, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed estimates for multi-discipline projects, including site visits, scope definition, material take-offs, and risk/constructability analysis.
- Analyze specifications for lump sum and construction management projects to determine full project requirements.
- Develop and issue RFQ/RFP packages, evaluate bids, and select optimal trade contractor pricing.
- Create conceptual and budget estimates using historical data and benchmarking.
- Follow standardized estimating procedures and methodologies.
- Draft preliminary construction schedules and workforce plans.
- Maintain and update trade contractor and vendor databases.
- Identify risks and opportunities in project documents and propose cost-effective solutions.
- Transition estimates to the construction team and support change order pricing as needed.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
- Travel occasionally for site reviews and stakeholder meetings.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Post-secondary diploma/degree or technical/trade certification in a relevant field.
- Gold Seal Certification and PMP designation are assets.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and Adobe/Bluebeam Revu.
- Valid driver’s license and clean abstract (for company vehicle use).
