JOB SUMMARY:
The Production Planning Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive production schedules and planning processes to ensure efficient manufacturing operations. This role serves as a critical link between sales forecasting, inventory management, and production execution to optimize resource utilization and meet customer demand.
JOB TASKS:
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain master production schedules based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints
- Oversee detailed weekly and daily production plans across multiple product lines and manufacturing facilities
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to accommodate changes in demand, equipment availability, or material supply
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure realistic and achievable production targets
Demand & Supply Management
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to translate demand forecasts into production requirements
- Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules
- Analyze inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize stock while minimizing carrying costs
- Identify potential supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Communicate production schedules and priorities to manufacturing managers, supervisors
- Partner with quality assurance, maintenance, and engineering departments to incorporate operational constraints into planning
- Coordinate with logistics teams to align production output with shipping requirements
- Present production plans and performance metrics to senior management
Performance Analysis & Improvement
- Monitor key performance indicators including on-time delivery, fill-rate, capacity utilization, and inventory turnover
- Analyze production variances and identify root causes of schedule deviations
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy and operational efficiency
- Maintain and update planning systems, processes, and documentation

- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and identify trends
REQUIRMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Five (5) years’ years of experience in production planning, manufacturing operations, or supply chain management
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with complex product portfolios
PREFERRED:
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
- Project management experience
- Experience working in the flexographic printing industry
