Summary:
The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end purchasing function and supplier management across all product categories. This role ensures optimal sourcing strategies, cost control, on-time delivery, and vendor compliance, while driving operational efficiency and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven ability to manage both vendors and procurement teams in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the full procurement lifecycle—from vendor sourcing, quotation reviews, and cost negotiation to order placement, quality control, and shipment booking
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals for cost savings, operational efficiency, and supplier performance
- Oversee vendor onboarding and ensure accurate setup of suppliers, SKUs, duty codes, and sourcing documentation in compliance with Giftcraft’s Supplier Guide
- Manage vendor relationships through regular communication, performance reviews, and conflict resolution
- Approve and issue purchase orders while negotiating optimal terms, including price, payment conditions, lead times, and quality standards
- Collaborate with internal departments (Product Development, Finance, Logistics, QA) to ensure alignment on launch timelines, compliance requirements, and inventory planning
- Supervise procurement team members (analysts, coordinators) and provide coaching, training, and performance feedback
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities through automation, data analysis, and system integration
- Monitor and maintain procurement KPIs, including supplier lead time, cost variances, fill rates, and on-time shipping
- Partner with third-party service providers for product testing, factory audits, and inspections to meet regulatory and quality standards
- Proactively resolve issues related to quality, shipping documentation, or payment discrepancies in a timely and professional manner
- Generate and present purchasing reports and insights to support management decisions and strategic sourcing initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, International Trade, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive procurement experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Strong negotiation skills and vendor management experience in a product-based business (consumer goods, retail, or wholesale preferred)
- Experience working with overseas suppliers (Asia preferred) and familiarity with international shipping, tariffs, and compliance standards
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (CSCMP, CPIM, or similar) is an asset
- Experience in Netsuite ERP an asset
