Position Summary:
The Process Operator is a member of the Operations Team reporting directly to the Shift Lead & Production Supervisor. Under general direction, the Process Operator is responsible for manufacturing the Company’s products to the required specifications, according to the company’s quality systems and health & safety procedures.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
· Ensuring the quality and safety of all products produced
· Responsible for manufacturing product(s) according to the required specifications and SOP’s.
· Ensure proper ingredients and appropriate quantities are used through weighing and measuring and checking the raw ingredients
· Is responsible for operating the production equipment during manufacturing either individually or in a team
· Record data relating to the process, quantities, etc.
· Maintain a clean environment according to regulatory requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
· Responsible for setting up the equipment, calibration of the measuring instruments and operation & cleaning of the equipment
· Work from written or verbal instructions, diagrams or models
· Receive and work from directions directly from the shift supervisor
· Oversee machine operations and finished product according to SOPs
· Where possible, determine and correct machine malfunctions, or reports malfunctions to the Production Supervisor or maintenance for advice and correction
· Perform routine maintenance and cleaning as per the requirements
· Follow SOPs, production processes and quality system control standards
· Ensure production meets scheduled requirements specified for the shift
· Ensure that products are produced to meet their required specifications
Qualifications:
· A minimum of high school education – Grade 12
Skills Required:
· Self-starter, motivated, enthusiastic and flexible
· Adept at following instructions and processes
· Able to multi-task and complete required tasks during the shift
· Able to work individually and in a team, a strong team player
· Sound organization and planning skills, able to complete more than one task at a time
· Can communicate well verbally and written
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
· Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
Experience:
· Prior work experience in a food, pharmaceutical or beverage manufacturing company, is an asset

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
· Observe all areas of the plant – requiring climbing, walking, lifting
· Frequently standing, walking, sitting, lifting, talking, hearing, eye/hand/foot co-ordination
· Exposed to a wet/noisy/vibrating/hazardous environment
· Required vision – distance and ability to see colour
· Required to consistently lift up to 22.7 kgs (50 lbs)
