Job Description:

As a plant manager and leader for Zurn Elkay’s Flow Systems business unit’s SiteWorks Filamat facility, you will be responsible for providing strategic operational direction to a team of managers and supervisors, and Union associates that translates to superior results and high associate engagement. This role requires someone who is highly motivated and experienced in plant management and possess a strong aptitude for driving a culture of safety, delivering results, servicing the customer, developing people, and continuous improvement. On a day-to-day basis, this position is responsible for managing the operation and overseeing safety, KPI performance, quality, plant budget, and overall operational success.

This person will be a key leader within the Flow Systems SiteWorks product line success and will play a critical role in the overall Zurn Elkay fulfillment strategy. The plant manager reports up to the operations manager – SiteWorks product line.

The role is responsible for plant purchasing, planning, operational execution with a union hourly workforce, quality and maintenance.

This role is located in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to the plant operations team.
  • Leads strategy deployment for the plant initiatives and growth. Leads manufacturing functions to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Accelerating value creation for our customers through responsive end-to-end supply chain performance and prompt resolution to customer inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Develop strategic plans and budgets to drive continuous and sustainable improvements through the application of disruptive technology, lean six sigma methods, and effective employee engagement programs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve associate engagement and morale.
  • Collaborate with the commercial team to support Zurn Elkay’s third-party sales rep network and meet customer expectations.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with the quality control team to maintain product quality standards.
  • Develop and manage the plant budget, including forecasting and cost control measures.
  • Ability to work cross functionally with the following departments: finance, quality, customer care, engineering, information technology, purchasing and production control and planning.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a plant management role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership ability and history of leading high-performance teams.
  • Experience and certification with Lean Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing methodologies is a plus.
  • Experience with fiberglass molding manufacturing is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience leading in a union environment a plus
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in operational excellence, lean implementation, and financial accounting.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP and CRM applications, with an emphasis on Microsoft Dynamics 365.
