Overview
As an Italian restaurant with over 28 years of operation, we are looking to expand our team! We are seeking a talented and passionate Pizza Chef to join our culinary staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and kitchen operations, with a keen understanding of food safety and handling practices. As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals while overseeing kitchen operations and ensuring strict hygiene standards are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a variety of pizzas, breads, and doughs following traditional and house-specific recipes.
- Overview dough preparation, including mixing, kneading, proofing, and fermentation processes.
- Operate ovens and other baking equipment to ensure consistent quality and proper cooking temperatures.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, strictly following food hygiene and safety standards.
- Monitor ingredient freshness and quality, adjusting recipes or techniques as needed.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate pizza orders and maintain timely service during busy periods.
- Assist in developing new bread and pizza recipes, incorporating seasonal ingredients or customer feedback.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pizza Chef or in a similar role within a professional restaurant environment.
- Expertise in pizza and bread dough preparation, stretching, and baking.
- Deep understanding of kitchen operations, food safety regulations and a consistent commitment to high hygiene standards.
- Culinary training or certification in baking or pizza making is a plus but not essential with relevant experience.
