We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities, ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with medication administration as per prescribed guidelines.
- Support clients with meal preparation and dietary needs.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Help clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Document patient care activities accurately and maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in case management to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
Skills
- Experience in nursing homes or assisted living facilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of senior care practices and working with individuals with disabilities.
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques and patient care protocols.
- Proficiency in medication administration and understanding of medical terminology.
- Previous experience in home care or hospice care settings is a plus.
- Strong caregiving skills with the ability to provide compassionate support.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to perform cleaning tasks efficiently while maintaining a safe environment for clients.
