Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in various settings, including group homes, assisted living facilities, and community care environments. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for those you assist by providing personal care, support with daily activities, and fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide patient care and monitor vital signs to ensure the well-being of clients.
- Engage in patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior and report findings as necessary.
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism and Alzheimer’s care, ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect.
- Maintain cleanliness in living areas and assist with light housekeeping duties.
- Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including medication administration when required.
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe patient transfers and heavy lifting when necessary.
- Foster a supportive environment through direct support and companionship to enhance social interaction.
- Participate in training sessions related to CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance, and other relevant topics to ensure high-quality care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in home health care, senior care, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with caregiving techniques for individuals with dementia or memory care needs is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of patient monitoring practices and the ability to perform basic nursing tasks is essential.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
