Indian Head High School offers Grade 7 to 12 programming to an enrolment of approximately 255 students. Indian Head is located 78 km east of Regina. This is a permanent part-time position that will commence on October 23, 2025 or earlier, depending on the successful candidate's availability.

    Role Overview:
    The School Outreach Liaison is responsible for creating, strengthening and maintaining linkages between the school, families and the community. The School Outreach Liaison supports transitions of students into and within the school, liaising with families and First Nation communities and leaders, and bridging cultural differences to ensure all students feel a sense of place, caring and belonging in the school.

    What you will do:
    • Facilitate the relationship between the home and school environment for students and families to encourage strategies to support regular school attendance and positive student outcomes by acting as a communication liaison, helping all students and families feel welcome in the school by encouraging participation in school activities and helping parents to advocate for the holistic well-being of their children.
    • Support staff, student and family communication by providing outreach supports, including home visits.
    • Support students and families in finding and accessing academic, emotional and social supports both at the school and outside such as arranging for mentorship and role model opportunities for students (including mediation and wrap around meetings).
    • In collaboration with the school administrator, connect with First Nation Education Coordinators to build effective working relationships.
    • In collaboration with school staff develop, maintain and publish a schedule of relevant and engaging programs and activities, including cultural and ceremonial events, offered at the school in order to develop positive partnerships with the broader community.
    • Create authentic relationships by attending and actively contributing to events in the community and with neighbouring communities, including some evenings and weekends.
    • Perform other duties as may be required or assigned by the School Administrator.

    What will make you successful:
    • Diploma or equivalent in a human service-related field (i.e.: Mental Health and Addictions Counselling, Youth Care Worker, Child and Youth Care Counsellor) if no previous experience working as a Community School Coordinator or Family Liaison Worker.
    • A minimum 3 years of experience working with children and youth.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with a wide range of client groups and understanding of how to deliver culturally responsive services to a diverse group of students, families and communities.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and solution focused interaction.
    • Deep knowledge of Indigenous ancestry, culture, teachings and traditions.
    • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.

    What you can expect:
    • Hourly rate range: $31.08 - $37.51
