Who we are
You know those big cities that still feel like small towns? Where everyone’s friendly and helps each other out? That’s like Doane Grant Thornton. Except here we’re all professionals and there isn’t a mayor or a general store. What we’re trying to say is that we’re a large and growing professional services firm that still feels like a community. We employ about 3000 people across Canada, and we truly care about our colleagues, our clients and the communities where we work and live. That’s what’s most important to us. We’re building a thriving organization that’s purpose driven and still want to remember what your favourite milkshake flavour is.

This People & Culture Manager role supports our National office colleagues located in Downtown Toronto, and our special culture shines through when we have the opportunity to connect in person. That’s why we’re working in a model where teams are required to be together in the office 4 days per week.

As a People and Culture Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Contribute directly to the development of the Business Unit’s People Managers by coaching them to excel in their people management responsibilities
  • Reinforce the development of a coaching culture as a way of inspiring our people and our clients
  • Bring the firm’s Purpose to life as the why for all important decisions, goals and activities
  • Role model collaboration, shared leadership, inclusion and a coaching orientation in all interactions – every touch leaves a trace
  • Execute the National Inclusiveness strategy in the Business Unit to integrate the firm’s commitment to inclusion in all people practices
  • Work to ensure effective and inclusive communication throughout the business unit
  • Collaborate with your colleagues across the country to execute on the strategic People and Culture vision and share knowledge and best practices
  • Execute on the cyclical HR processes and administration for various locations
  • Promote and supports the firm’s employer brand in all activities within the firm and externally
A role in our People and Culture team is a unique opportunity to use your head, heart and gut. You will:
  • Collaborate with talented, entrepreneurial professionals who are trusted advisors to our clients
  • Be part of a unique work culture that supports your growth as a leader and coach and challenges you to further your professional development and enhance your chosen career path
  • Be a true business partner and work with our leadership teams to strategically impact our organization
