Parts Specialist & Estimator
What You’ll Do – The Role (Responsibilities)
Minor Repairs Responsibilities
- Create and issue detailed, accurate purchase orders with appropriate cost allocation and location codes
- Manage the entire purchase order process, including:
- Obtaining supplier recommendations for substitutions
- Communicating back-order status to internal clients
- Arranging returns and exchanges, ensuring corrective measures
- Source, quote, and purchase parts and materials, finding alternatives when necessary
- Execute and follow up on Minor Repair quotes, ensuring timely delivery to customers and completion of work while resolving vendor and customer issues as they arise.
- Maintain up-to-date SDS database, ensure compliance and share with the Health & Safety Department
Parts & Inventory Responsibilities
- Track, verify and inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and condition. Escalate non-compliant shipments.
- Load and offload materials using a forklift, ensuring safe and secure transport and storage
- Manage binning process: label products, ensure quality, and pick for work orders promptly
- Maintain proper inventory control measures, ensuring minimum and maximum inventory levels
- Assist with oil and fuel tank management, including refilling smaller containers
- Conduct quality assurance of Genset units and materials for incoming and outgoing shipments
- Lead monthly and year-end inventory and audit processes, including adjustments and reorders
- Maintain daily shipping/receiving activity records. Update parts and supplier databases, ensuring accurate data and pricing
- Order and process standard bulk items for applicable location
- Coordinate returns and replacements, keeping stakeholders informed
- Issue purchase orders and maintain accurate system records
- Resolve vendor and customer issues as they arise
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the shipping/receiving area
What You Need (Requirement)
- 3+ years of experience in warehousing, shipping, and receiving, and/or parts
- Previous experience and certification in forklift operation
- Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification
- Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail required
- Advanced computer skills and expertise in MS Office applications
Working Conditions
- Working in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise, dirt, dust, odors, and all outdoor weather conditions
- In the case of a power outage or declared State of Emergency by any level of Government, be available for work
- Safe handling of dangerous goods
- Physical labor required to load/unload and organize materials
- May be required to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional changes in schedule may be required for special projects
- Some travel may be required
