Carlsberg Canada recently purchased Waterloo Brewing Ltd. so Carlsberg Canada includes the production, distribution and commercialization of Carlsberg and Waterloo products as well as various co-manufacturing partnerships.
Key Objectives:
Under the direction of the Taphouse Manager, the Line Cook assumes responsibility for following menu specifications and ensuring food quality is to the highest standards.
Accountabilities:
- Ensure food is safely stored and properly labeled and dated.
- Practices FIFO with all food products.
- Prepares food within scheduled time constraints. 15min lunches. 20min dinners.
- Ensures meals are presented with visual appeal, taste, and quality.
- Ensures meals are at proper temperatures before leaving the kitchen.
- Ensures kitchen is clean and sanitary, including equipment, floors, fridges, countertops.
- Run various pieces of kitchen equipment, time the steps in each dish and know the cooking requirements of each dish.
- Be knowledgeable about menu items, menu changes, and food preparation procedures to ensure a positive and consistent guest experience.
- Consistently prepare ingredients, garnishes, sauces, etc. to specifications.
- Quickly resolve complaints about food preparation or quality.
- Ensure safe food handling procedures are followed.
- Control waste and work to high efficiency with food ingredients.
- Ensure that the kitchen area is always clean and orderly.
- Work each shift with a safety mindset.
- Works within legislated requirements for proper food handling, WHMIS, Health and Safety, lifting techniques, and cleaning requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Must have local food handlers’ certification.
- Minimum of 2-years' experience in a similar position.
- Reliable, courteous, and displays the values of Waterloo Brewing.
- Flexible to work a variety of shifts.
