Play Project is an organization that is dedicated to spreading knowledge and awareness of parkour in Burlington and the surrounding area. Play Project takes pride in carrying out quality programming for children, teens and adults. Job Summary
Coach parkour programming during recreational parkour classes for participants ranging from five years of age to adults. Coaching occurs in hour long class settings, as well as camp settings (during the summer).
Responsibilities and Duties
-Coaching weekly parkour classes.
-Coaching parkour camps (including PA day camp, march break camp & summer camp).
-Coaching special events (including corporate workshops, birthday parties, etc.).
-Supervising open gym programming.
-Helps setup/sanitize/clean up the teaching space before and after classes.
-Implementation and modification of ready-made lesson plans.
-Able to demonstrate basic parkour skills.
Performance Expectations
-Shows excitement to coach, learn and self-develop.
-Resolves and manages conflicts/disruptions to classes.
-Frequently foresees dangerous situations and actively mitigates danger during classes.
-Works seamlessly and effectively with all staff.
-Monitors safety concerns, class performance and student engagement.
-Communicates in a concise, engaging, charismatic, accurate and relatable coaching voice.
-Uses a basic understanding and delivery of parkour movement concepts that is adaptable to different students’ learning styles on a class by class basis.
-Maintains professionalism as a Play Project staff member including wearing appropriate attire, interacting with other staff and talking to clients/students.
Qualifications and Skills
-Willingness to learn and develop as a parkour coach/athlete.
-Experience with parkour or a similar movement background (i.e. dance, gymnastics, climbing, etc.) OR experience in a camp environment.
-Minimum of 1 year experience in a teaching, coaching, or supervising position.
-First Aid Certification is preferred but not mandatory.
-Positive attitude.
-Applicants are required to be a minimum 16 years of age.
Job Types: Part-time, Casual, Seasonal
Pay: $18.25-$20.00 per hour

Experience:
- coaching: 1 year (preferred)
