Job summary

We are seeking an energetic, hard-working and ambitious Cannabis enthusiast to join our Packaging team as a Packaging Assistant. If you are eager to work in a fun collaborative environment with a group of passionate individuals, we would love to meet you!


MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Packaging of Cannabis products

  • Labeling of Cannabis products

  • Configuring label templates

  • Maintaining inventory of packaging components in the packaging area

  • Inspecting packaging and products to guarantee they are free of flaws and packaged correctly

  • Responsible for maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the packaging area while performing all duties

  • Where applicable, must adhere to Aurora's SOPs and comply with Health Canada’s Cannabis Act. In addition, must adhere to all ISO requirements and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)

  • Where applicable, promote and maintain GMP requirements

  • Recognize unsafe conditions and practices, and make corrections to prevent injuries and product loss

  • Maintaining electronic batch records of packaging events and other applicable processes

  • Responsible for leading assigned team members through packaging event(s) and other applicable processes

  • Responsible for the training, understanding and operation, maintenance and cleanliness of equipment and utensils

  • Responsible for maintaining cross-functional reporting systems

  • Other duties as required


WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Comfortable working with Cannabis

  • Physical effort is required, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs.

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and after hours as required

  • Repetitive use of hands, wrists and forearms

  • Comfortable working with step ladders (i.e. step ladder/single sided step ladder)

  • Must be able to wear proper PPE (jump suits, safety glasses, hair nets, etc.)


  • This role is in one of Aurora’s Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified plants and works directly with products. Towards the end of the recruitment process, we require that you undergo a medical screening exam with our third-party vendor.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience working with cannabis considered an asset

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks
