Job summary
We are seeking an energetic, hard-working and ambitious Cannabis enthusiast to join our Packaging team as a Packaging Assistant. If you are eager to work in a fun collaborative environment with a group of passionate individuals, we would love to meet you!
MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:
Packaging of Cannabis products
Labeling of Cannabis products
Configuring label templates
Maintaining inventory of packaging components in the packaging area
Inspecting packaging and products to guarantee they are free of flaws and packaged correctly
Responsible for maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the packaging area while performing all duties
Where applicable, must adhere to Aurora's SOPs and comply with Health Canada’s Cannabis Act. In addition, must adhere to all ISO requirements and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
Where applicable, promote and maintain GMP requirements
Recognize unsafe conditions and practices, and make corrections to prevent injuries and product loss
Maintaining electronic batch records of packaging events and other applicable processes
Responsible for leading assigned team members through packaging event(s) and other applicable processes
Responsible for the training, understanding and operation, maintenance and cleanliness of equipment and utensils
Responsible for maintaining cross-functional reporting systems
Other duties as required
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Comfortable working with Cannabis
Physical effort is required, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 30 lbs.
Ability to work weekends, holidays and after hours as required
Repetitive use of hands, wrists and forearms
Comfortable working with step ladders (i.e. step ladder/single sided step ladder)
Must be able to wear proper PPE (jump suits, safety glasses, hair nets, etc.)
This role is in one of Aurora’s Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified plants and works directly with products. Towards the end of the recruitment process, we require that you undergo a medical screening exam with our third-party vendor.

Previous experience working with cannabis considered an asset
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
