General Description:

We are seeking an experienced Packaging and Warehouse Manager with expertise in managing automated packaging lines for bags and totes in the food industry. This role requires strong leadership and operational oversight to ensure packaging efficiency, food safety compliance, and optimal workflow while handling diverse packaging formats. The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, requiring strong coordination and management to ensure seamless operations across shifts. Additionally, this role is responsible for overseeing the loading of finished products for shipping to customers, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of packaging and warehouse staff, training them on proper handling techniques for bulk and individual bagged products.
  • Supervise, motivate, and develop the team, ensuring key targets and production objectives are met while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Manage personnel decisions, including hiring, performance evaluation, training, and disciplinary actions, fostering a productive and positive work culture.
  • Manage packaging material inventory, ensuring sufficient supply of totes, bags, and sealing materials for production schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, FDA, CFIA, ISO 22000 and other food safety regulations, with a focus on contamination prevention in bagged packaging to protect the end user
  • Optimize packaging line efficiency by identifying and implementing process improvements for bagging, sealing, labeling, and stacking operations.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate tracking, proper documentation, and timely distribution of goods.
  • Manage the loading of finished products for shipping to customers, ensuring proper handling and efficient logistics coordination.
  • Plan and execute regular inventory counts, reconciling system records with actual physical inventory to maintain accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure packaging equipment is properly serviced and calibrated.
  • Work with logistics teams to streamline the movement of packaged products from warehouse to distribution channels.
  • Maintain records of packaging output, waste reduction efforts, and inventory control measures.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues related to bagging and tote packaging and develop solutions to improve productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in food manufacturing, logistics, supply chain management, or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive experience in food packaging management, with a focus on bag and tote automated packaging lines.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with hands-on experience in packaging equipment operation and optimization.
  • Knowledge of inventory tracking systems for packaging materials and warehouse management.
  • Forklift certification or experience is required.
  • Ability to work in a high-paced food production environment, managing multiple packaging lines efficiently.
