Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Overnight Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals with varying needs, including those with disabilities, seniors in assisted living facilities, and residents in nursing homes. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our clients during overnight hours.
Duties
The Overnight PSW will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Assisting clients with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Supporting meal preparation and ensuring proper nutrition for clients
- Administering medication as prescribed and monitoring client health conditions
- Providing companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties
- Assisting with mobility and transfers to ensure client safety
- Documenting care provided and reporting any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in caregiving or home care settings is preferred
- Familiarity with senior care practices, including dementia care and medication administration
- Understanding of working with persons with disabilities or special needs
- Experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A commitment to providing high-quality care with empathy and respect
