We are currently seeking an Overhead Crane Maintenance Technician to join the Maintenance team in our Richmond Hill & Newmarket locations for the Day Shift. The Technician will be responsible to inspect, repair, replace, install, and troubleshoot crane related mechanical equipment in the Rebar production and assembly facility.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on overhead cranes
- Generate parts request to ensure adequate inventory
- Generate and complete work orders as assigned
- Inspect, install, repair, replace, adjust all crane related equipment in the plant
- Determine the best way of making repairs to minimize interruption of production
- Reads drawings, blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Advise when immediate shut down of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when temporarily continued operation will have no harmful effect
- Inform the Facility Manager of any outstanding mechanical matters
- Demonstrate strong safety awareness by always wearing personal protective equipment, performing duties in a safe manner and continually maintaining a clean and safe work area
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience working on overhead cranes
- Prior diagnostic/troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience preferred
- Strong communication skills both verbally and written.
- Experience with welding is an asset
- Experience with CMMS is an asset
- Basic computer skills is an asset.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- A motivated team player with a “can-do” attitude that is able to troubleshoot, focus and organize work area.
- Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently, and effectively while maintaining high attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
