Position Overview
This is a key role on our distribution team responsible for accurately picking and preparing customer orders for daily delivery. Working primarily in our walk-in fridge, you’ll be selecting the right products for each delivery route, making sure they’re packed correctly, and helping ensure smooth operations across our distribution process. It’s physical, detail-oriented work that requires a strong sense of organization and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick and pack orders accurately for multiple daily delivery routes (e.g., Toronto, Newmarket, Hamilton, Barrie, Niagara)
- Work in a cold environment (walk-in fridge) to retrieve milk, cheese, yogurt, and other products
- Label and stage orders by route and customer, ensuring accuracy and presentation
- Track quantities used, crate counts, and any product shortages
- Assist with end-of-day checks to confirm all orders are accounted for and documented properly
- Support special deliveries or pickups (e.g., food banks, hospice donations, wholesale customers like Hope Eco, Eataly)
- Communicate with the order desk or supervisor about out-of-stock items or substitutions
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Occasionally assist with restocking or inventory counts
Skills & Experience
- Experience in order picking, warehouse work, or food distribution an asset
- Comfortable working in a cold environment for extended periods (fridge temps)
- Strong attention to detail and sense of responsibility
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Able to lift and move dairy crates and boxes (approx. 25–50 lbs)
- Team-oriented and clear communicator
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.50-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 – 40 per week
